At Date with a Novel, we believe that books are a passport to new worlds and new adventures. They introduce us to characters we a are hard-pressed to forget, soul-stirring love stories, epic fantasy adventures and heart-wrenching emotions. They make us laugh out loud, and stir emotions that make us want to throw the book across the room in frustration. But those are the best ones yet, the ones that elicit the roller coaster of emotions. Even better the ones that shock us time after time, book after book. The ones that leave us bereft of emotions and in sheer disbelief, with the thought, "Did that really just happen?".
If you love those emotions and the highs & lows of experiencing an amazing story, then welcome! You are my Tribe!
Fun Fact: Date with a Novel's name came about as I felt that reading a new novel was a bit like dating, you don't quite know what you are going to discover when you meet a new book. What the world is like? Whether you will hit it off at the start with an insatiable spark or 100 pages in like a slow burn. The emotions rollercoasters and heartbreak or joy that awaits you at the end. The longer you read the more you get to know the characters personalities, motivations, inner turmoil and more. The more you fall in love with the characters, worlds and beings flaws and all. There are some books that leave their mark on our souls, having taught us a little more about ourselves, or expanding our world view, and then there are some that are like fleeting thoughts.
What can I expect?
So, what can you expect at Date with a Novel? You can expect a range of content from book reviews, book recommendations for your TBR list, news & updates on the latest book news, and in-depth theories, discussions & opinions on select reads. We cover a number of genres from fantasy romance, urban fiction, contemporary romance, dark romance and more. While the blog primarily focus on Young Adult and New Adult genres, from time to time we may have recommendations in YA and children genres.
